Common Fence Music presented an afternoon of four free simultaneous
roots music workshops on April 4, 2009; each workshop lead by a
member of The Wiyos. Above are photos from three of the four workshops.
The Workshops:
Piedmont Blues Fingerpicking
Style with Parrish Ellis
Lap
Steel and Early Dobro Guitar with Teddy Weber
Old-Time Bass
with Joseph Dejarnette
Vaudeville
Techniques with Michael Farcas (no photos)
Woodshed with The Wiyos was made possible with a grant from the Rhode
Island State Council on the Arts, through an appropriation by the
Rhode
Island General Assembly and a grant from the National Endowment
for the
Arts.
This event is part of a larger Common Fence Music incentive
to
bring American Roots Music to the youth of Newport County as well
as other
areas of the state.
