Once again the Board of Directors and Volunteers at CFM are pleased to report a very successful Membership Program for our just completed 18th season.  Our special thanks to the folk music enthusiasts who “took the chance” on some “amazing unknowns” like Malcolm Holcombe this year’s Ariana Gillis and became CFM members!  The board has also enthusiastically endorsed the continuation of the Membership Program for the 19th season with some unique incentives to join!

CFM continues to be the best choice for folk and roots music entertainment in the area! The picnic series at the CFPIA Hall on Anthony Road in Portsmouth will continue as in past years.  These shows are especially designed to encourage the sharing of a picnic dinner (the folk tailgate party) before the show.  The CFPIA location is easy to get to, and offers free parking to concertgoers. The Common Fence Music at Channing Church Series also continues with the signing of three great acts. Gandalf Murphy and the Slambovian Circus of Dreams return to CFM to kick-off the Channing Series in November. The band's music is a form of folk rock and is sometimes described as Punk Classical Hillbilly Floyd; Irish duo Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill arrive in time for St. Patrick’s Day in March; and legendary folk artist Tom Rush completes the series on a Thursday in May.  Newport’s Channing Church is performance friendly, convenient and larger than the CFPIA hall.

Has the CFM Membership Program changed this season? Yes and no.  The basic membership idea has not changed:  the annual membership fee of $55.00 is the same as the  last two years!  Members can select three (3) tickets from the list of 12 picnic series concerts on the downloadable application form. In addition, members have the opportunity to purchase tickets at the advance ticket price from our entire line-up, including Fiddlers & Fisherman #13, John Gorka, Cheryl Wheeler and the three Channing Series concerts.  These shows typically sell out in advance, so get your tickets when you apply for membership! Additional savings:  ticket prices at the door will be $2 - $3 higher than the advance ticket price for some shows.  Delicious Incentive:  As a testament to the terrific pastry our Volunteers make for each picnic series show, we offer one free pastry to each member ($3.50 value) who signs up before September 30.

Please download and fill out the application form, indicating the number of memberships, the concert(s) you wish to attend, and the number of tickets for each concert. Please mail the completed form and your check or money order to the address indicated.  And please let family members and friends know about this opportunity.
