Grey Larsen is an accomplished guitar, flute, concertina, fiddle
and penny whistle player who has reached deeply into American, French
Canadian, Irish and other European traditions. A graduate of Oberlin
Conservatory of Music, he has explored progressive composing inspired
by those traditions. Currently, Grey records, produces and masters
recordings, scores films, and edits music for various books. He
is the Music Editor for "Sing Out!" Magazine. He has chosen to focus
on deepening his understanding of Irish traditional music, especially
as represented in flute and tin whistle playing. His masterful collaborative
effort, "The Green Room" stands as testimony to his accomplishments.
Martin Hayes calls his playing "both authentic and beautiful, the
product of artistic humility and insight." His newest CD, "Dark
of the Moon" has just been released.
Keith Murphy is a talented vocalist with a light, expressive style.
He plays DADGAD guitar as well as mandolin and piano. And French
Canadian foot percussion is frequently a part of his compelling
rhythmic presence. He has several recordings to date: one notable
CD being "Ways of the World" with Ruthie Dornfeld. He is presently
a member of the band, Assembly - once known as Popcorn Behavior.
