WUMB's "Best New Artist of 2000," Claudia Russell, is a veteran of Los Angeles' independent music scene. Claudia covers a lot of ground with her warm and expressive vocals, commanding comparisons to Patsy Cline, Maria Muldaur and even Patti Smith. Her eclectic mix of styles, evidenced on her award winning debut cd Song Food, includes sprite western swing, country blues and straight-up folk pop. She is presently recording a new CD, tentatively entitled All OVer the Map. This will be Claudia's second performance at Common Fence Music. We've been looking forward to this one for a while.
