Maria opened CFM's 13th Season with a commanding performance that was both heartfelt and sassy. She tore through the blues as she strut across the Gold Lame Stage, letting the audience's appreciation drive her.

In this surprise return, she will feature works from her new cd collection of love songs by Bob Dylan. The CD, released in August, is called Heart of Mine. "It occurred to me," she says, "that while Dylan is mostly known for his scathing, perceptive, brutally honest and insightful songs of social consciousness, he has in fact, over the years, written many passionate, poignant love songs."

Maria comes to these songs with an authority rooted in her Greenwich Village childhood; and with the affection, and also the keen eye, of an intimate friend.
