One moment heartfelt, the next hysterical, Cheryl Wheeler has been entertaining audiences at Common Fence Music for years. She often revisits material from earlier songbooks, but never is the set-up, or the rendition, exactly the same.

Cheryl enjoys disecting the foibles of politicians and other pretenders. And "the higher the monkey climbs" the longer her reach: the Emperor is never so naked as in Cheryl's sights. At the same time Cheryl exalts life's plain truths and quiet moments in her memorable songs, fostering an understanding that comes from shared experience and so, allowing people to feel comfortable with themselves. She often plays to sold-out audiences of old acquaintances and friends.
