COVID-19 RESPONSE

CFM is closely following the news, and evaluating as the COVID-19 unfolds. This is a very unpredictable time, and we are staying vigilant and nimble, making some immediate changes to our programming. Although the risk of contracting the coronavirus/COVID-19 is currently low in Rhode Island, the situation is rapidly evolving and the health and safety of our community is of the utmost importance to us. We will follow guidance from the Center for Disease Control and the Rhode Island Department of Health in the coming days and weeks.

Common Fence Music (CFM)) is taking the following precautions:

  • Coordinating with CFP Arts and CFPIA in regards to disinfecting facilities.
  • Refraining from any physical contact, including shaking hands, with all people we are meeting with.
  • Requesting artists, staff, and all volunteers who are feeling ill in any way to stay home.
  • Shifting the format of our Love + Harmony Benefit on March 28th to a live streaming concert via YouTube, filmed with only artists and necessary staff onsite. Details on the event and live stream access will be available shortly.
  • Cancelling or postponing remaining Spring 2020 concerts.

We ask you to take the following precautions to protect yourself, your colleagues and the broader Rhode Island community when deciding to attend any public events or meetings:

  • Do NOT attend an event or meeting if you are feeling ill or have had contact with anyone that has Coronavirus.
  • Practice hygiene practices as recommended by the Center for Disease Control, including hand washing, using hand sanitizer, and putting distance between yourself and other people.

If you have questions or want updates about the Coronavirus in Rhode Island or nationally, both the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the Rhode Island Department of Health have robust and frequent updates and information on their websites: https://health.ri.gov/, and https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html. Additionally, The Rhode Island Department of Health has launched a 24-hour hotline for anyone with questions about the Coronavirus. Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm, call 401-222-8022, at all other times call 211 for assistance.
